The online world is evolving faster than legislation. Children and young people are exposed to harmful content daily — sometimes without even searching for it. Alliance 4 Children has been at the forefront of national online safety advocacy, pushing for stronger protections.

Major Progress This Year

Thanks to collaborative pressure from A4C and our partners, the government introduced:

  • A ban on extreme online pornographic content
  • A £1.7 million research grant to investigate how social media impacts youth wellbeing
  • Commitments to strengthen age-verification and safety design requirements

Why This Work Matters

Families often feel powerless when confronting digital risks. Strong policies provide the structure needed to keep children safe — and hold tech companies accountable.

Our Continuing Commitment

With over 100 Parliamentarians supporting this movement, we’re pushing for further protections and better enforcement.
